Consultation
If you Are looking for a custom piece, or a quote for alterations, we will start with an initial consultation.
Custom - This is the time that we will get together (over coffee, maybe?), and you can whip out your Pinterest board and show me all the ideas that have inspired you, and we will work together to come up with an initial design. I will then source fabrics and supplies, and create a quote. Once a 30% deposit is paid, we will move on to the fittings.
Alterations - When you come for your alterations consultation, you will try on your dress, and I will have a chance to look at what needs to be done to ensure your dress fits like a glove, and give you a quote. If you are happy with it, we can move right into the fitting phase, or you can book a separate fitting appointment.
Fitting(s)
Once you have come for your consultation and decided to move forward, we will start the fitting phase.
Custom - Your first custom fitting will be in what’s called a toile. It’s like a rough draft of your design. I will create a toile of your design, in a plain fabric that will be purely for fitting purposes. Once the fit is perfect, we will start creating your custom piece in the real fabric. Once the outer shell is done, we will fit that and tweak it until it’s perfect, then the lining will be installed.
Alterations - Depending on what needs to be done to your dress, it could take 2 or more fittings. We will start by fitting the bodice, then we will move onto the hem. Once that is perfect, we will add the bustle.
Final Try-On
Custom - Once the lining has been installed, and all the finishing details are done, you will come for a final try on. You can bring all your accessories, shoes, etc.. and see the final product in all it’s glory. The garment will be pressed and ready to go, so once you are happy with it, it will be packaged up, and you can take it home, yay!
Alterations -Once we have perfected the fit, and added the bustle, you will come for your final try on. You can bring all your accessories, shoes, etc and see yourself as a blushing bride. This will also be when I show you and your mom, or maid of honour, or whoever, how to do up the bustle. The dress will be steamed and ready to go!
