Rochon Designs is a Calgary based company specializing in hand made bridal wear, suits, and bridal alterations. We offer a range of made to order veils, but are also happy to work with you to create something entirely unique and custom for your special day. We are excited to have the opportunity to help create something special and beautiful for you on your wedding day! Every piece is handmade with love locally in Calgary.

About the Owner

When I was in grade 1, my parents told me that I needed to know three things before I moved out: how to read a recipe, how to change the oil in my car, and how to sew a button onto clothes. My mom was the one who taught me how to sew. The first project I ever made was this silly looking fleece cheetah print poncho, but I loved every minute of it. That is where my passion for sewing and design started, and it grew from there.

From that point on, I spent all of my free time designing and sewing. I watched Project Runway religiously, and I was inspired by everything around me. I took the fashion program in my high school where I competed in the Alberta Provincial Skills Apparel Technology competition all three years. I continued my education at Olds College, where I took the Apparel Technology program with a major in Fashion. It was an intense program, but I learned so much. In between my years at college, I worked at a bridal boutique in alterations. I gained a lot of experience in the needs and wants of brides while I was there.

After graduating college, I began working with a local designer in Calgary, Anneke Forbes, who makes coats and jackets. She is an incredible seamstress, and I learned so much from her. However, the most important thing I learned from her was to take pride in my work, and to strive for nothing less than perfection.

When I decided to start my own business, I took what I learned from Anneke and applied it to everything, and I continue to do so. I love to learn, and I strive to always be gaining as much knowledge as I can, so I can provide all of my brides with something special that they can cherish forever.

I cherish each and every opportunity I get to create something special and beautiful for someone on their special day; I am so honoured when a bride chooses me.
